Charlie Pi

Horns : 2009 : Acrylic on paper : 70 x 100cm : £1,175

Pi’s homoerotic depictions of black male nudes contain imagery that could be perceived as stereotyping. His paintings show stylized masculine forms using horns as headdresses, plucking chickens and using phallic gourds to cover their genitalia. But Pi says his concern is with archetypes not stereotypes.
